Visual artist Juliet Mackie takes on commissions to produce bespoke paintings for personal collections and corporate spaces. Her work incorporates many individual themes and can complement any contemporary interior design.Juliet grew up in the Hawkes Bay region of New Zealand and has traveled extensively around Australia, working in many different fields over the years. Having finally settled in Queensland, and during a stint working in Australia’s great outdoors, the artist was inspired to explore her lifelong love of colour and texture and launch her new career as a contemporary visual artist. Experiences from her colourful and interesting life provide inspiration, contributing an energy and vitality that is so palpable in her painting work.
To create her original artwork commissions, Juliet uses rich and vibrant colours and blended tones. The artist takes her inspiration from the energy and beauty of colour in nature, the richness of human emotion, and all things new. Her contemporary works range from large abstract pieces that will enhance any interior design setting to landscapes, colour or moodscapes, and works featuring architectural and structural themes. Using predominantly acrylics to form intricate textures on canvas, her paintings create an immediate impact and emotional response, and are sure to complement your corporate or personal space, making a dynamic statement.
The depth and scope of Juliet’s work continues to evolve. Her series of contemporary mining landscapes captures the raw power and depth of the mining environs of Queensland’s Bowen Basin. Paintings incorporating architectural elements depict the strong lines and bold shapes of urban streetscapes and silhouettes. Juliet’s colour and moodscapes reflect the richness and fullness of intense but limited palettes, light and movement. And bold abstracts continue to lead Juliet in new directions.
